Question

What are the average response times for RGW configuration?

Answer

The following response times are indicative of the time it takes to return various RGW configuration.

  • Configuration retrieval from an online device: 5-15 seconds
  • Configuration submited to API: < 5 seconds
  • Configuration applied to online device, after being subnitted to API: 7-30 seconds
  • Reboot:
    • HyperFibre ONT ~ 1minute
    • 3rd GEN ONT ~ 2 minutes
  • Factory Reset
    • HyperFibre ONT ~ 5minute
    • 3rd GEN ONT ~ 3 minutes-- Voice/Lan/Wifi Port Reset 5-15 seconds

Question

How will I know when configuration has been applied to ONT?

Answer

Check “setStatus” parameter in API is set to SET_APPLIED

Question

What do I do when configuration fails to apply to ONT and “setStatus” parameter is set to SET_RETRY

Answer

The ONT has rejected the configuration. Try the following steps:

  • Check the configuration you are applying is not valid. Try to fix the configuration and re submit it
  • If configuration is correct, reboot the ONT. After the reboot, the configuration will be retried automatically.

What do I do when configuration fails to apply to ONT and “setStatus” parameter is set to SET_FAILED

Answer

The RMS had trouble processing the configuration. Retry the configuration submit and Contact Chorus Support.
